Small
Changes leads to Big Results!!!
When it comes to self-development, it's the small small little things that makes the biggest difference!
Taking small small little things becomes big! Yes, one thing at a time,
taking baby steps leads to the wonderful journey of success!
By focusing on the
small things, one can grow each day!
1. Trust your
instincts.
Listen to yourself!
But yes, first do the home work of self study, check them with logic, take
opinions, run the numbers to make sure things make sense, but if it doesn't feel right, it
probably isn't. Trust that.
2. Move to learn.
Learning doesn't
happen just like that, one needs to put efforts. If you ever feel stuck, ask
yourself, do self study and find solutions within yourself. What can you do? A
person is a student for his life; one never grows old till he/she keeps
learning. There is no age for learning. So, just keep learning an moving ahead.
3. Surround yourself
with positivism.
Love yourself a lot!
Trust yourself! Stay away from negative people. Surround yourself with positive
people, people with sound knowledge, who will truly guide you, love you and
also criticize you when you are wrong.
4. Nurture your
creativity and ideas
An idea without a
pulse for creativity is an empty box. If you truly want to be successful, you
need elements of both.
5. Feed your brain.
You are what you
read!! The way your body needs healthy eating, similarly your brain also needs
healthy and good reading. Read from sources which help you grow our knowledge,
understanding. Read healthy!
6. Sleep the amount
you need and maintain good health.
Listen to your body.
If you are hyped and making progress on a project, maybe you can get by with
less sleep for a few days. If you're exhausted and borderline sick, reel it
back and sleep in for a day or two. Give your body what it needs, when it needs
it. You'll spend less time playing damage control later on. Healthy mind
healthy body and vice-versa. Eat healthy and balanced diet, do regular
exercise; which can be any kind of physical activity. Health is wealth!
7. Play "The
Appreciation Game."
The more you
appreciate in life, the more life in turn appreciates you. Attitude of
gratitude takes life a long way! Throughout your day, look for as many things
as possible to appreciate--from your loved ones, your significant other, your
friends, the work you're doing, etc. This will keep your energy open to
receiving more and more positive energy.
8. Make your
weaknesses your strengths.
Analyse your
strengths and also weaknesses. On the go all-in on your strengths. Always be
aware of your weaknesses and do not run from it, instead find ways to change
and train them into becoming strength.
9. Follow discipline,
pick a thing and do it every day, no matter what.
People who have
strong elements of discipline know the value in doing one thing, every single
day. Practice makes man perfect! Because not only are you improving at that one
thing, but you're practicing the habit of good habits. Find something that's
meaningful to you and make it a daily practice. It will eventually become the
foundation for everything you do.
10. Attract a
mentor.
Connecting to
mentor, does not necessarily mean to run towards a person for help. A mentor is
someone who you connect with and from whom you can learn at an accelerated
rate. Mentors are not people you walk up to and ask for help. A mentor is a
person from one gets inspired, gets shaped into a better person and one can
bring to the table to warrant that learning experience.
11. Document your
journey.
We forget how much
we do in a day--and often times, don't give ourselves enough credit. At the end
of the day, take ten minutes and write an entry in your journal. Look for
things that went all, and look for things you can work on for the day to
follow. There's value in acknowledging both.
12. Limit social
media usage.
Now that social
media has been around us and we all are very much part of it! we are starting
to realize that, if used in correct way and in a limited way it is a great
tool, though it's disastrous for our focus, if overused. In a distracted world,
being able to have a clear vision for what you want to do or create and not
getting pulled away every time a notification goes off is a huge advantage.
Master technology, don't let technology master you.
13. Read on-the-go.
Reading is one of
the best ways to learn and progress. If you aren't reading a book every two
weeks, or minimum, per month, you aren't reading enough. Exercise your brain by
keeping good books on your smartphone, and instead of scrolling through other
social media(s), read a page or two while you're travelling or as and when
permits. There are e-books, epubs, audio books; can use the technology for
better!!
14. Make time for
input.
Whatever your craft
is, you have to make time to study and take in information, as much as you do
work on creating. It's a balance of input and output. Without input, your
output will suffer.
15. Dress the part.
Dressing for success
is a real thing. But part of developing yourself as a person starts with how
you take care of and presents yourself. You'll struggle to take those leaps in
life if you're not feeling great about yourself. Start here.

16. Ask friends to
hold you accountable.
It's crucial to have
people in your life who can call you out when you're under performing, or lying
to yourself, or changing for the worse. These are the people who should be
members of your inner circle. Allow them to give you feedback along the way.
You'll save yourself a lot of time this way.
17. Protect your
time.
The more
distractions you let into your life, the harder it will be for you to focus on
the things most important to you--and to change for the better. Keep things
simple. Maybe this means not having a television in your bedroom, or spending
less time on various social media or it means saying no to social events during
the week. Either way, just know the value of your time--and invest it
accordingly. Keep the tab on your priorities and schedule your day accordingly.
18. Listen to podcasts while you travel.
If you're always on
the move, use travel time to your advantage. Podcasts can be a great way to
continue giving yourself more input. Load a few onto your phone and make use of
those hours spent in transit.
19. Measure your
progress.
As my own mentor
said to me, "If you can't measure it, don't do it." Give in your 100%
and give it your best!!! Track your efforts and find ways to keep tabs on how
you are progressing--whether that means keeping closer tabs on your projects,
or being more aware of your daily habits.
20. Believe in
yourself.
At the end of the
day, nothing can take the place of you believing wholeheartedly in yourself.
Believe in yourself and your abilities and potential. Never let your self-doubt
hold you captive. If you can't do that, you're going to struggle from the
start. You have to believe in where you're going before anyone else can. If you
do not believe in yourself, then no will believe in you!
